Summary: Write the story of the Battle of the Black Gate, only, make everyone in the battle die, but Frodo still destroy the ring, and Sauron be defeated. What would happen to Middle-Earth?
Categories: Book-verse Characters: Elrond
Summary: Ever notice we hear nothing about Legolas' mother? Write an mpreg story (feel free to change the name if you like), of no less than 6 long chapters. In the story, a very young prince Thranduil and a very young soldier Haldir meet under tragic circumstance and become attached. They keep in contact by writing letters to each other, despite their duties and different paths in life . Centuries later, they meet again in the midst of an orc battle. Feelings are discovered and explored, and after Haldir returns to the Golden Wood Thranduil discovers he is carrying a reminder of their time together, which we later discover is Legolas. I'd like you to have Orpher strive to keep the entire "situation" under wraps by having Thranduil rushed into a marriage to an elleth. Oh, and Thranduil and Haldir must lose contact, all the while Haldir tries to figure why even though he's burdened by his duty as a newly promoted Galadrim. I would love to see what someone could do with this!

Summary: Write about the Fellowship's adventures from Smeagol/Gollum's point of view.
Categories: Book-verse, Movie-verse Characters: Gollum, Sméagol
Summary: Write a non-slash story that occurs after King Elessar's coronation. A man develops an unhealthy obsession with Legolas after Legolas saves him from being beaten to death. When Legolas goes missing, it's up to Gimli to find him, save the day and maybe even his life.

Summary: Tell a spooky Lord of the Rings Halloween Tale including atleast Elladan, Elrohir, Aragorn (or little Estel), Legolas, and Glorfindel. Please no Slash, or anything else. Let's make it a clean, creepy story that will send goosebumps crawling along your skin.
Categories: Movie-verse, Book-verse Characters: Elladan
Summary: This I got as an idea from reading a few fanfics on FanFiction.net! Anyways, in this challenge, the Fellowship, or any one of the characters find a small child on the quest, or get turned into one. The child can be either boy or girl, any species: Elf, Human, Dwarf(I don't know what they look like), etc. Heck even an Orcling if you are brave enough! I will let you decide on how you want to do the story, use your imaginations! So, I know it has been a long time, but will you accept my challenge?

Summary: The Fellowship took pipeweed and liqueur with them, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of them brought along a little something "extra" to spice things up. Since pot has been used in Europe since ancient times, it's reasonable to imagine it would have existed in Middle-Earth. Try to decide which members of the Fellowhsip would be most likely to partake in such activities and at one point during their journey they might have felt the urge to get high, and show how this might have changed their perception of their current situation - but don't change any of the events that took place in the book!

Summary: A modern object or thing (not a person) goes to Middle Earth and well, whatever this specific object could do. Example: A CD player, this could cause quite a lot of confusion but it doesn't even have to be a modern thing, it could be something weird from the 50s if you wanted, it's up to you. Enjoy - Li

Summary: I just got thinking about Gandalf and how we don't hear anything about him or his family. Whether he had a brother, sister, wife,or child(ren)I'd be happy to see what you think.
Categories: Book-verse, Movie-verse Characters: Gandalf / Olorin
Summary: Choose an original character of one of the races/countries that allied with Sauron (Orc, Harad, etc.) and give their perspective or account of the second War of the Ring.

Summary: Whilst playing Rock Band with some friends I had the idea to have a Dwarvish heavy metal band; and, as I'm heavily into writing Gandalf fiction at the moment, I thought this would make a great challenge/bunny for all who enjoy a little AU/humor in their LOTR fanfiction. It can have pairings, it could be a drabble, an AU or a PWP, does not matter so long as the Dwarves are rockin' all night/day etc. Take it and run! -er rock, yeah, rock.

Summary: Pick your favorite (or not) talk show host and let him him interview a LotR character. What shall the resulting madness be?
Categories: Movie-verse, Book-verse Characters: None
Summary: People either fall into Middle Earth or are brought there by mysterious means, but here is the catch: They are turned into Animals; such as horses, wolves, dogs, hawks etc. And you can have them turn into mythical beasts like Dragons, Unicorns, Minotaurs, Fawns, etc. You can make them talk out loud or by thought etc. These people/animals could help the Fellowship or they could be used by the Fellowship, etc. Its up to you! Now who will answer my Challenge?!

Summary: I was thinking something about Arwen's thoughts of when Elladan, Elrohir and Aragorn go to the Battle of the Black Gate at the end of ROTK. What would she be feeling knowing she might never see them again? Would she be scared? Maybe glad? I don't know so have fun and enjoy - Li

Summary: Legolas never finds love in the books or movies, but what if it was him and not Aragorn who had fallen in love with the Evenstar? Note: Aragorn never falls in love with her for any responses to this. it is simply that Legolas did and he didn't.

Summary: Faramir, Aragorn and another man are buried alive by an avalanche. A few years after the War Aragorn, Faramir and another, Man or Elf (it could even be Boromir, if you like), are on some business up in the Mountains, when an avalanche descends on them. The three would either be in a hunter’s house or a large mountain cave, with a small supply of firewood and provisions, so they can last a few days. But there is extremely little hope of salvation, for the snow has dead-blocked all exits, and no one is likely to find and dig them out. You get the psychological atmosphere of the situation. All three are close friends, but no romantic relationships had arisen between them up to this point. But now… You know, desperation, depression, mad hopes, inescapable doom and no future… And then they just run out of fire-wood, and it’s winter up in the mountains. Up to you whether to make this into a tragic tale of hopeless love awakening only to be soon forever extinguished, as the frost takes them one by one – or have a happy end where at the last moment they are saved. You can also choose, of course, to have a bit of both, when not all of the company manage to make it through…
