Things have been pretty hectic for me lately so I apologize that I'm a little late with this. Here is how we are going to do the awards this year:

First, I need two judges for each category. If you are interested, I ask that you have fair to good knowledge of Tolkien-verse and that you have an understanding of proper spelling, grammar, punctuation and formatting. Also its important to note that once you are a judge, your stories cannot be nominated for the awards.

In order to make the process fair and impartial, the nominations will go through two levels as they are narrowed down for voting. The first judge in a category will choose four stories, then the second judge will read and choose the two from those that she thinks are best. Those two stories will be the ones that all site members will be able to vote on.

We will have nine categories this year:

Best Book-verse
Best Movie-verse
Best Drama/Angst
Best Humor/Parody
Best Friendship
Best Short Story/One Shot
Best Original Character
Best Romance
Best Slash Romance


If you wish to become a judge, please e-mail me at webmaster@lotrfanfiction.com and let me know which categories you would be willing to read for. Being a judge does require some level of dedication and quite a bit of reading, so I ask that if you volunteer that you have sufficient time and effort to devote to it.

I will be re-opening the forums this weekend with a special section for our judges to work together as the awards progress and nominations will be opened this Saturday for all site members. At that time, I'll go over the rules for submissions.
