I am very grateful to Adora for posting a link to a 10-minute survey, which I hope you can complete. I am a first-year PhD student at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California. My research will greatly benefit from your participation.

I have to assure you -- I am a LotR fan as much (if not more) as I am a graduate student. However, as a graduate student, I really stand to benefit from your participation in this survey. It is for the term project for my class on online communities, professored by Dmitri Williams. Given my interests, I am doing a project on Lord of the Rings fans. That is why I am approaching you and this community.
