This is indeed very dark. Especially the second part touched me. All those questions and then - nothing. Nothing done. Perhaps there was nothing to do for her, but what about doing something for himself or the rest of the family? In Elladan's point of view they are very absent. It's curious that only his brother is in his mind, but even he only as a figure "standing next to him". I wonder if Elladan with time will see, that this pit cannot be filled by vengeance.
I liked it, it gives insight but puts forth new questions at the same time.
Aww, that's so..so sad..Pour Celabrian..
Great story capturing his emotions and all that ^_^
Author's Response: Sorry about the late response, I just noticed this review now. Thanks so much for commenting, though. I'm glad to know that you enjoyed it.
Really sad, but gives a good impression of what he has gone through and how that changes behavior. Looking forward to anymore stories you write.
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! Another story is on it's way, let me know what you think!
I don't think I have ever read anything which dealt with the twins finding Celebrian. I can feel his horror and his rage and his grief through this. There is nothing which makes one feel more helpless than seeing one you love in pain and fear and being unable to do anything. After such an experience no-one would ever be the same, not only Celebrian of course but her sons who found her.
Wonderful one shot!
Author's Response: Thank you again so much for another generous review! I must say, you are certainly inspiring me to continue posting here! :) I believe that I have seen two or three fics in my years of reading fanfiction (although I have been writing LotR fanfiction for about one and a half years, I have been reading it for over five) that deal with the twins rescuing Celebrian from the orcs. I find that rather surprising, considering how interesting the subject matter is (at least for me). Here is a real, canon friendly opportunity for angst and for exploring such darker themes as the impact of torture on the characters. Iím glad that I was able to portray Elladanís feelings believably.
Oksy, answer me this. Did you find some sort of book no one else knows about? The reason I ask is because these stories (and I have read all three of your stories) are so darn life like that it seems as though you know them personally. You have a very amazing talent to put all of these emotions into a fanfiction. Although for me they are not at all fanfictions. You have created such amazing stories that are so believable. You have been added to my favorite authors and I continue to look forward to reading all of your works. They are filled with such detail, that it is hard to believe that they are fanfictions!
Author's Response: rnHmmm, okay, who told you that I happen to have in my possession the sole copy of the super secret Tolkien diaries that, rather than selling for millions of dollars, I decided to try to pass off a fanfiction? :-p Seriously, thank you for your high praise, and for your great reviews, Haldirolorien. Iím really touched, and Iím so glad that you are enjoying my humble contributions to the fandom so much.
