By the way, I think Boromir is one of the harder canon characters to write. He is incompletely described in the books (I think) and poorly served by the movie -- although I love the movieverse flashback of him in Osgiliath that they put into TTT.
Author's Response: That scene is so good! It always makes me teary. I have the quote "Remember today, brother. Today life is good." on my fridge... :D thank you, Ria.
It's true there are many super people on here. I've come to know some as friends through reviewing and now talk to them on LiveJournal. I like the very supportive and friendly atmosphere of this site, as opposed to ff.com with it's flaming and infighting/ Like you, I am very glad I found it, and that was by chance too. I wasn't even searching for a fanfiction site ( didn't know there was any such thing ) but I found one of my favorite stories and a little time after, like you decided to post.
I hid my writing for a long time, so I was quite used to no-one reading it, that side of it didn't worry me, I just wanted to prove I was brave enough to go public after so long. I expected no response whatsoever, but my point was to say to myself, ' I've put it on the internet ' and get over a huge mental block.
What I found, like yourself, was some wonderful writers who are also lovely people.
Author's Response: Wow thats a great story. Yes, even little things like simply putting it on the net can make a big difference in your life (and other people's lives). Thank you for responding. As you know, it means a lot :D
I also found this site through google, I was totally bored one afternoon in Freshers' Week, and hey presto...a new obsession was born. I agree with your comments about how supportive other authors are too - they've really encouraged me.
One thing - I think you mean "spurred," not "spurned" - "spurned" means "rejected" as in "I spurned his love."
Take care! :)
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Oops hehe yeah thanks :D i'll change that.
