This is very nice. I love your characterizations here, especially Glorfindel and Elladan through Estel's eyes. Very very nice! Not many can pull off 1st person very well, but you did it!
One pickie: It's Middle-earth (the e of earth isn't capitalized) :) Keep up the good work!
Author's Response: :) Thank you very much! I'm experimenting with writing in first person and I'm glad I was successful in capturing Aragorn in a belivable way. Thanks for the technical point, I'll go fix that :)
GEMINI!!! *pounces* You're back! =D
hehe, sorry for the attack. Glad you're back!
I sometimes feel bad for Estel, having to grow up with elves, who have lived for thousands of years and who will live for thousands more once he's dead and gone. Kind of makes you despair of ever being good at anything when you're surrounded by people who have milleniums more practice than you do....
Author's Response: HENNY! *Pounces* It's great to be back! I missed everyone so much! *Huggles* I felt really bad for him too, even though he becomes a famous and great king and warrior, he would still never be able to compete with a hero like Glorfindel...Never mind more millenia of experience, even a few decades can make all the difference in greatness! *hugs* Thanks for reviewing!
Great, this is great! I never expected anything less, of course, but this is very thoughtful and is in Aragorn's POV perfectly! Well done! -
Author's Response: *Blushes* Well, thank you! I've never written from Aragorn's POV before, so I'm glad I was successful :D Thanks very much for reviewing!
That was very cleverly done, and very good.
I am glad you are still writing, as I do think that it is something you should always keep up. I have read your early works and seen you climb a really steep curve where it seemed each time you wrote you sounded older, your vocabulary was becoming more fluid, more descriptive. So whatever you settle upon, please keep writing, because there are some younger authors who are naturals and they always shine out.
Take care, and also thank-you for the lovely note at the beginning. That's so kind. If I could write like Esteliel I would be a very happy person. :)
Author's Response: *Hands cookie* Thanks very much Fanari! I think I am slowly improving, but I wish I had more time to spend writing creatively and didn't have to write in the non-fiction genre quite so much. Thank YOU for always being a source of inspiration to me, you and Esteliel are the two who keep bringing me back to LOTR and awakening a love for it in me :) Hope I get around to reading your latest works soon! xx
