Good on you for posting something as honest as this. I find that the work of yours that I have so far read has left me wanting to read more! I have no training (that might be evident if you ever come across my work) but that didn't stop me! Bring it on with smiles and sunshine :D ~ Iri
Author's Response: Thank you for your encouragement.I wish they had the "other" section up here so I could post a fiction I am working on. I read a beautiful story by an author called elfscribe. It inspired me to read more on Alexander the Great.
I think you should try your hand at writing. I have no training but just write what is in my head. If I managed to entertain just one person, it was worth it. I for one am interested to see what you could come up with.
Author's Response: Thank you. You have given me the courage to post a little story. I will write and post soon. Thanks again for the encouragement.
I'm sorry I kept deleting my review. I found there was something else I wanted to say. LoL! Nutso here.
There are so many fine writers on this site. I have had the joy of reading their excellent fanfiction and getting to know many of them. Making new friends through a common interest is always a plus and blessing :)
Oh hon. Don't delay your writing! I know how hard it is to take the first step. I failed high school English, so trust me when I say I know how hard it is to publish what you write.
I have been exactly where you are now many times. I still am! Every time I post something I expect it to be a complete failure. And in my mind it always is, no matter what anyone says, because of many factors I won't mention here. I took a writing class and the guy was a complete idiot. He had an ego the size of the Atlantic. I wanted to be prepared and have my ducks in a row so to speak. I put my trust in another person because I wanted approval and it knocked me back. Writing is a passion and you can't deny it. Someone once told me that when it comes to art there is no wrong. Writing, in my opinion is a form of art. There is no wrong! Let it out or it will eat you up. Don't second guess yourself, hon. Just write for yourself and not what you think people expect. By the way you had me in absolute tears. Hugs you. You are so very kind.
Lots of love and hugs, Kim
Author's Response: Thank you for the encouragement. It means more than you know! I will post something soon.
I’m surprised at the number of really fine story tellers there are, with excellent writing ability.
I completely agree. I was extremely fortunate to find excellent stories by complete chance. If I found the summary interesting, I would read it, as I never search for any particular theme or pairing.
Talented writers are talented whatever they choose to write - and some of them simply want to write within Tolkien's Middle-earth. To me, fanfiction is not the poor relation of original fiction, (which is the view some people have, whom have obviously not read the works I have.) because I have read books which should never have got past a publisher and fanfiction which enthralls me so much that I will read the story over and over and never get bored.
Author's Response: You are so right. I wish the law would allow people to publish their work as long as it does not plagiarize. Thank you for taking the time to read respond!
