A very good ending, Gwaelinn! Had me smiling quite a lot.
Although ... 18 years? If not for their friendship that would have been a terrible waste of time. But time spend in friendship is never a waste now, is it?

Anyway, I'm glad Aglaril will now really be part of a family again after so many years.

My best wishes for your next stories, I'm sure they will be just as well!

Author's Response: Much happened in those 18 years...She was 17 when she first encountered Gamling, he then got married and had a son (who was 10 when Aglaril's father died) so that made her about about 30ish when her father died. Lets say Gamling's wife died 2-3 years later...giving them 5 years to really develop deep feelings :) A long time, but worth the wait;) Next fic in series to post really, really soon! Hope you'll continue to read. If elves are your thing, check out my stuff at OEAM or my LJ!

Again, beautifully written!
I'm curious if she knows of his affection - as everyone else does, it seems.
I love the way you portrayed your characters and how they look out for each other. I'm normally more into elven society but they do not need for such tight bands between families as it is less likely for a parent to die...
I like that very much and after learning to like Gamling for his honourable and compassionate traits, I hope you now give us a picture of Aglaril that goes beyond the facade ;-)

Author's Response: You comments made me feel very good this morning. I found my self suddenly drawn to Rohan...maybe it's my age or present path in life, but I realized that they had a strong but simple society and remained loyal to thier leader and way of life despite the strife. There is but one last chapter to this segment and I hope you will find it a perfect little (temporary) ending...one that ignighted a series with a couple of much longer fics! Again, Thank you. ~G

So sad, but so beautifully written and so emotive. Love it!
Although I would have wished for Camaeron to not die a violent death, now everyone from Aglarin's old life died in battle...
Anyway, you've obviously put a lot of work and thought in it. Paid off: really a great start for a story. I'm definietly waiting for more!

Author's Response: Thank you! I am glad you are enjoying it. I ano not good with short fics but thiso ne just suddenly came to me and became the beginning of something bigger! Hope you like the direction is takes and thanks for feeding the dreative energy! ~G Now to read your update!
