Haunting and beautiful and sad all at once. I pity Gríma, and I pity Éowyn for being haunted by him. Grímais tragic, although he isn't blameless in being so. I can see the innocent, sweet game becoming a darker expression of Gríma's desire for Éowyn, and it is chilling. Not to mention that your prose is spectacular - I highly enjoy the way you write. I have never heard of Edelweiss or Rübezahl, but I would like to look them up now.

Ooh the irony! Such a lovely, innocent, beautiful story. Very sad in that it hints at what will come when the innocent fun fades with time and Shadow. Nicely written; I especially like the subtlety. Excellently done. I feel as though I must go read the original though, although I'm sure that I'll prefer this version. Quite beautiful.
