What was he like a as child?
Author's Response: In my mind? Lonely. The book never mentions his parents, so I imagine they died when he was young. After that he was sent to live with his Grandmother, who didn't have as much time for him as maybe he would have liked. That's my interpretation.

I like this story, especially this: "...although the look of hate on my daughter's face had been terrible, the satisfaction on it afterwards was infinitely worse.". This made a strong impression on me. Also the "You lie, You cheat, you steal" line reminds me of Tool's song "Intolerance", that has exactly the same line. Best Wishes and good luck.

I really like your continued exploration of Sméagol and this grandmother's POV was no exception. The last line was almost haunting - simple and says it all.
