I can hardly believe this story is your first. It is so good. Will write you a long review. The fellowships time in Lothlorien is beautifully portrayed and with your story you have included its with magic. All your characters are perfectly 'in character.' I particularly liked Celeborn's voice, well realised. Aragorn feeling the weight of his destiny and responsibilty which brings him to breaking point was also wonderful. I liked Legolas's reaction to the Mellyrn. he would do that, touch the bark and leaves, feel them grow and I am sure they would talk to him too as he listens. The relationship between Aragorn and Legolas was beautifully drawn. My heart was in mouth as Aragorn woke up. I really thought it was going to happen, so well done for the brief suspense and for quickly allaying my fears. I also liked the flash of humour with Hobbits regarding mushrooms. It lightened the tale and also by contrast threw into relief the seriousness of the quest. Aragorn sitting between the immortals and the mortals was a nice touch which highlighted who he was and his ancestry and heritage. You managed to include everyone in the fellowship in some way, not just the main character. Having Frodo and Merry interested in elven history in Imladris brought them in and reminded us of their personalities and the voices of Gimli and Boromir were spot on too in their dialogue, as was Sam when he said, 'sounds a lot like Strider.' I liked Celeborn's reference to his Granddaughter. I loved your Galdriel's speech when she gave Legolas his gift. One of my favourite moments in book/film. The significance of the story of Turin and Beleg was excellent. I think you have crafted a very rich and meaningful story in a short space. You have included so much from the scope of Tolkien's whole vision and blended issues such as mortality, the Valar, history and prophecy for the future, with the current events and the characters feelings and emotions and given it all great significance. Just fantastic. (Think this the longest review I have ever written.) Hope you will write some more. Rozzan.
