I could cry with him...dammit I am! *reaches for tissues* To have left his friends under those circumstances...the pain must be horrible! I like how the trees pickup on his grief...very sad and beautiful. Just how I like my stories!

I like the description of the Mirkwood elves, still very elf-like, but definately different from the Rivendell & Lothlorien elves. I also like the little detail you put on Galathil, the scar. Nice touch!

The detail you describe the wood, I almost felt as if I was there! It should be quite interesting how the "tree-hugging, jewel-thieving, wine-guzzling," king handles Gimli's arrival. That description was hilarious!
