I really enjoyed this story. Almost everything I know about the first age, I've learned from fan fiction. I don't know the characters, but I don't need to. You've conveyed their love, loss, and hope so well. Thank you for making my morning!
Author's Response: Oh wow! I'm glad it was able to touch you so much! It was only a little exploration I decided to do one day...basically all we know about Rumil of Tirion is that he invented the precurser to Elven script, and jotted down some histories and things. The rest is just the backstory I imagined for him, a story about dedication and love. :) Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for the review!
I liked this, but I don't think that someone who doesnt know tolkein that well would understand it!
Author's Response: I'm pleased you liked the fic! I admit I hadn't really targeted the fic for a non-geek audience so much as played around with some of the less popular characters who interested me personally. I guess most people who aren't a big fans of Tolkien's more obscure works wouldn't be as interested in reading about someone like R├âĂĺ├é┬║mil of Tirion anyway - the fic was written for my friend, who is a huge fan of him. I just wanted to explore a little snapshot of what happened in Valinor after the exiled Noldor had gone. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Lovely, but shouldn't it be "...love not with the intenseinty of the moment...".
Author's Response: Glad you liked! Thanks for the review! No, it's meant to imply a sort of duality, both intense and lasting, seizing the moment but enduring forever. Yeah, I'm a soppy romantic fluffball at heart! ;)
