That's what I find that difficult about "Laws and Customs", mainly in Mirkwood and concerning Thranduil. So I was very happy to discover someone else wondering about that as well.
This is a very well-written story, even though, or maybe actually because it's so sad and bitter. I liked it very much. Thank you!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to review! Yes, I have disagreed with some of the implications of the Laws & Customs ever since I first read it. This was me having my little say.

I love the subtlety and thought that you put into this story. It's nice to see such a careful portrait of Thranduil, and the tragedy of the two elves is very satisfying because it's so matter-of-fact.

Author's Response: Thank you! This story was meant to be sad, and a little bitter. I always figured the 'no second marriages' rule in the LACE would hit Mirkwood very hard.
