Story Notes:
These were written for the Advent challenge. They reflect my fondness for formal structures. Each drabble (loosely -- a few are off-length) responds to the picture prompt for that day. Each is also linked to the drabbles immediately before and after.

Author's Chapter Notes:
Prompt: Picture of Gollum.

-----------------------------------------

One is where it begins, a single fish’s mouth opening in the dark water. I tell you, look for one: One lost traveler wandering alone in the mines, you found me all alone. Now you remind me of all the things I saw so long ago, the single gold face glaring down at me, and the golden treasure of the egg my grandmother gave me. It begins with one golden treasure.
