Ha! I only now noticed that you post here:) Well, prank gone wrong. I wonder how often that has happened in the past (they seem to very prone to having bad luck) and how long the morale they have learned here will last. If I have to be honest, I'd have to say I hope not that long, because otherwise there wouldn't be such wonderful fic to read!

Is it bad luck, or just the attention of angst writers? :o) Considering how many of the aforementioned angst writers there are, you don't have to worry about our guys stayng out of trouble for very long. Hi! I'm catching up on the Teitho stories from last month (and yes, I *do* realize I'm awefully late...). I liked this, especially because of the what if-feel you usually have in time travel stories. What if that character doesn't die as he's supposed to? What if he survives? That's always fascinating to me - all the repercussions one small act can have. And truly, to Legolas that wasn't an earth-shattering experience. But to the girl it was all that mattered.

Author's Response: Hi, Michelle. I know all about catching up. :o) I\'m glad you liked my little tale. I am also fascinated with ‘what if’ stories. We never know how many future events turn on one small act. I\'m glad my idea of the main event in this story being so important to one character and net even remembered by another came through clearly. It was important to me that the woman was able to resolve that difference in her own mind and find peace about it. Thanks.

Ah, now we come to the Tolkien/alchemy quote you put in the beginning of the fic and I'm curious how you're going to fit the two theories together. And I wonder why Beregond has this feeling of deja vu.

Though, as someone who's based in the LOTR universe and not Fullmetal, I would have loved to read a little more about the transmutation reactions they showed Beregond - just to see how this actually works in that universe.

BTW: I loved the little tidbit about the guys trying to find out whether Beregond was his first or last name. Call me weird, but I always found it immensely funny that most of our beloved LOTR-characters managed to go through life with only one name (okay, except for Aragorn, who tends to float towards the other extreme *g*).

Author's Response: Now we come to it. There are going to be several things that will connect the two worlds, and they will be revealed as Beregond keeps searching. I have to admit that I kinda implied how things worked in reactions. Basically, an alchemist draws an array on the ground or on any objects he wants to transmute, then places a hand on it to activate. Some bypass the drawing process by having the circle handy as a tatoo. Ed doesn\'t need any circles. Yeah, that was something that I found funny too - there wasn\'t any character who happened to have the same name with another! *lol*

I like manly!Aragorn, but I cannot help but ADORE top!Leggy from time to time. I surely enjoy him more than the crying princeling who needs rescuing all the time. It's good to see him take charge and grab what's his to begin with!!

Amazing. First - I never saw the connection before, but the beginning sounds a lot like Moses leading the Jews out of Egypt. That thought never occured to me while reading the Silmarillion (okay, I'm excused since I'm an atheist, but still), so your story helped me see a new aspect of Tolkien's writing. If that isn't what fanfic is for, then I don't know:)

Then, having grown up with fantasy, esoterics and fortunetelling, I liked the twisted way the palantir worked. Elendil wasn't quite accurate enough in his command to the seeing stone, so the palantir showed him what he wanted to know - but by taking a few turns and bends. Exactly how I would imagine seeing the future works - if it works at all:)

Author's Response: Thanks, Michelle. You know, I didn\'t think of that connection explicitly while I was writing the story, but Tolkien must have. On my most recent rereading of the Silmarillion, I was really struck by how little encouragement the Faithful must have had.

Ah, the intrigue! This is actually how Tolkien thinks ME fits in with our own reality, isn't it (assuming the Fullmetal universe is "our own reality", which of course is quite unlikely in itself).

Love the rather philosophical stuff on gods and deities and what it might all mean in Beregond's case. I'm curious to know how this will all connect to the Ishbalans. 

Uohhhh. Such a little fiend. I was just about to like the kitties (because that's what I do: liking ALL cats), but it's spying on our hero and that's definitely not good!

Also, I've been thinking about the title or how Ed&Al and Beregond are both deep in their research - apart from each other. Does that mean they won't meet up in this part of the story? Because Beregond seems to really miss his friends *pouts*. 

Ohh, things are becoming clearer! I cannot tell you enough how fascinating this is! You're answering a few burning questions and a few paragraphs down you confront your poor readers with a few rather big ethical question. Let's see where that goes! 

O wow, how can you leave us hanging like that? I'm really dying to know what Ed actually meant to say to Al!

There are so many things you will have to cover in part three. Ed's dreams, Beregond's alchemy, more ME-mythology, evil Fawcette and his minions and so on. Can't wait to get started on that! I must say, I really like Scar. Write a big role for him, pretty please:)
