Title: Chapter 2: Mischief Reviewer: Tathrin Signed
Hee hee! Ah, the twins...always a good time! You wrote their pranks very well. The allusion to Aragorn and Arwen being all their fault was a nice touch as well. And the honey...ai, the honey! Nice and amusing, and very much in character for eveyone's favorite pranksters next to Merry and Pippin!

Author's Response: I had a lot of fun with this story- it's one of my favorites! Thank you for your kind review!

Title: Chapter 1: In The Dark Reviewer: Tathrin Signed
That was really good! Very insightful. The way you present Frodo coming to his decision is very nicely done, and all the most bittersweet because we know that inevitably he fails--but you didn't give that away, and that adds a nice element of realism. The fatalism was very true to character as well, I thought, and you didn't overplay it melodramatically. All in all, a powerful and exceptionally well-done study on poor Frodo!

Author's Response: *Tucks her wooly toes under her skirts and blushes bright red.* Thank you for reading and also for responding! I am just getting to know my way around this site and am feeling a bit lost among all the elves - so it is nice to see I can provide something of interest amid such elegant company! Thank you!

Lost among the elves, huh? Well, don't worry--we may be tall, but we try not to look down on anyone! ;) Seriously, welcome to the site! It could probably use a bit of hobbit-sense to keep it from flitting off to the stars...lol

Author's Response: Hobbit sense I have - and I will try not to be too boring with it. The fandom is made up of many different types and fancies and every one of us adds to the richness of this universe.

I liked it. I thought the raw, "unpolished" nature was a good idea. Excellent handling on emotions on both parts; seeing Aragorn lost like this doesn't happen often, and I think you did a good job of it. Very emotional!

Author's Response: Wow, thank you! I am so happy to hear what you thought of the story!

Aw, poor Merry--I'd imagine almost being eaten by a tree would give anyone nightmares! Very nice how you tied it in with the consuming darkness of Moria in the hobbit's mind. Great grasp of character, and a nice filler.

Author's Response: I really enjoyed getting into a hobbit's head for this one...so childlike, yet mature, aren't they? Thank you so much for your kind words!

Title: Chapter 1: Lost Reviewer: Tathrin Signed
Very nice. I like how smoothly you integrated lines from the book/movie; they really fit the story. Great capturing of Sam's state of mind. You can really feel how torn he is, even though he knows what decision he has to make. Beautiful imagery, especially with the life "almost" behind Frodo's eyes. Even though you don't mention it, I can see Sam's tears falling through the words of the story. You have an excellent handle on young Master Gamgee, and he shows through very clearly. Very nicely done!

Excellent! I don't think I've ever thought what it must have been like for Faramir before; I loved your version of it! I don't think I'll ever be able to picture it differently, your story was so vivid! I loved the depth of emotion you conveyed and everything you told about his family. Very well-written, very good choice of what to write on!

Oh, that was priceless! The Ring's seduction versus Mary Sue's! This was absolutely amazing, I'm still snickering! I'd list some of my favorite lines, but I'm afraid I'd end up putting half the story in here. Really, truly spectacular job! Ah, the Ring...who knew it could be so FUNNY? Oh man, that was just too much...pretty...except for Boromir...Me! HA!

Author's Response: Thank you! I imaged it would be pretty angry and lash out if it could! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Title: Chapter 1: Precious Reviewer: Tathrin Signed
Can we all say STALKER? Time to get a restraining order, Frodo! Seriously, though, very creepily well-done. Gave me a nice little shiver when I finished it! Definately award-worthy. Crow, I must be evil. I just chuckled. A sadistic, creepy, evil chuckle--inspired by this, so it's your fault. Well, okay, I was evil before this, but that doesn't mean that this wasn't! Beautiful! Er...in a dark, shivery, freaky way, that is. Great insight, into both the Ring and Frodo. The darkness that freezes your soul...the madness is taking you...excellent lines! And ending with "Your Precious" was inspired and a nice wink at the audience. I love it. I must be a bad person. But I really, really enjoyed this! :)

Wow...that was amazing. Your writing was so beautiful! It nearly brought tears to my eyes. You're right; there really isn't enough about Galadriel and Celebrian. I'm glad you thought to start filling in the gap; you did it spectacuarly. I could feel every drop of Galadriel's sorrow and pain as her daughter was lost to the Sea. The details of nature and emotion were so marvellously evident, and so elvishly real. This was lovely!

Ooh, intriguing...this is getting off to an excellent start! And the beginning of this chapter had such beautiful loss, as well! Poor Rangers--secretive they may be, but when it comes to outright deception...! This was such a lovely chapter, so elegantly dark.

Title: Chapter 14: More Twins Reviewer: Tathrin Signed
Oh gods, the (elven) twins! *snicker* Always fun! I really like the idea of denying the heirs because of their elvish heritage. That's an interesting premise, and a very possible one. Great thought; it really adds depth to the story, especially with how Aragorn ends up being named Elfstone by Gondor when they finally accept Isildur's Heir at long last. That's really food for thought! This is such a well-thought-out fic, with such attention to detail! It's wonderful!

Title: Chapter 22: Minas Tirith At Last Reviewer: Tathrin Signed
I really like the parallels between Ecthelion and Denethor and Denethor and Faramir. Very subtle, but very powerful. And the scene with Aragorn was much the same; I look forward to seeing how you take this.

Title: Chapter 26: The Departure Of Thorongil Reviewer: Tathrin Signed
That was a really excellent story. The level of detail and history you captured was amazing. This really expanded beautifully upon both the Northern Rangers and upon Gondor. The story truly felt like an addition to Tolkien's work, it meshed so well and fleshed out so much. It's clear you put a lot of thought into this, and it was very worthwhile. An excellent read, both for the sake of the story itself and for the background it gives. Brilliant work!
