Summary: In the forest of Mirkwood, a fierce battle rages between the Wood-Elves who dwell there, and the invading orcs from the mountains. All is confusion and chaos, and nobody knows who to trust.

In Rivendell, life is slow and peaceful. Fifteen-year-old Estel, forbidden by his foster father to join the war in Mirkwood, grows bored and restless in the Elven sanctuary.

When a strange Elf is brought, wounded and broken, to Rivendell, the two worlds collide and Estel's life is thrown into confusion as he seeks to befriend the Elf. But first, Legolas must learn to trust again.

I loved this story from beginning to end but had to find it here because it only went to chapter 18 at the other site and that was actually chapter 17 put up a second time.

For what it is worth I am glad you did two endings and the one where Legolas sails is worth reading because it reminds us that not every situation has a happy ending. Although I would not have labeled it a fake chapter.

I look forward to reading the second story in this series.

Author's Response: Thank you for the nice review. Where else were you reading it? I need to fix that! I\'m glad you enjoyed this and I hope you like Never Alone. there are many stories in this series...Instruction In Youth is the first, then Never Alone, Offering Nothing More Than Tears, Never Alone and Every Year On the First Day of May..I hopeyou read them all!
