This is beautiful! I don't think I've ever read anything from Gimli's point of view before, and you do a fantastic job of capturing his character, even his odd sense of humor. Great job!

Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I just had this strange urge to write something from Gimli\'s POV, since he *is* a rather neglected character, and this was the result. Thanks so much for reviewing!

Author's Response: Thanx, the quality of the first two chapters really isn\'t great, but it gets better in the next couple. I have to get my lap top up and running though, so I can post more chapters!

Summary: In the forest of Mirkwood, a fierce battle rages between the Wood-Elves who dwell there, and the invading orcs from the mountains. All is confusion and chaos, and nobody knows who to trust.

In Rivendell, life is slow and peaceful. Fifteen-year-old Estel, forbidden by his foster father to join the war in Mirkwood, grows bored and restless in the Elven sanctuary.

When a strange Elf is brought, wounded and broken, to Rivendell, the two worlds collide and Estel's life is thrown into confusion as he seeks to befriend the Elf. But first, Legolas must learn to trust again.

This is a beautiful and sad poem. I love how you take two sort-of unrelated themes (wishing to be famous, regret for your friends) and intertwine them. Fantastic job!

Author's Response: Thank you so much Ophelia. I really appreciate the time you took to review my poetry. Thank you very much indeed. Keep smiling! Love SK xxx

Love it! Write more!
Date: Jan 05 2007
Summary: A response to Sharpe_and_Harper's "The Fellowship Meets the Fellowship." Pretty much the actors fall into Middle Earth and excitement ensues. Not a story I would normally do; I don't really like Actor Fics because I feel weird writing a story about a person who exists but I've never met. Please imagine that I do really know exactly what sort of thoughts Viggo Mortensen has!

Title: Chapter 6: Fear in Fangorn Reviewer: Ophelia Signed
This just gets better with every chapter. Your descriptions of fangorn are beautifully written, and you create an image that's more vivid and meaningful than any movie could. Your characters are believable, and the dialogue is engaging and beautifully worded. In short, this is one of my favorite stories. Fantastic job.

Title: Chapter 7: Old Scenes with Sting Reviewer: Ophelia Signed
Your imagery is so beautiful! It's hard to write descriptively about the night sky and still be original, but you manage to do both. Your language is just gorgeous.

One minor comment: in you last sentence, you write "you'd of thought." The correct term is "would have thought." Sorry for my grammar nazi tendencies...

Anyway, fantastic job! I can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Hahaha! No, I know-- I reread that sentence an\' I was like... Whoa. I must have typed it the way I slur it. ^.^ You\'da thunk so, anyway. I\'ll fix that up! Thanks for the review!

Escape Route by ArwenUndomiel Rated: PG-13 [Reviews - 7]
Summary: Evan was the school nerd; a Tolkien-loving, hard-working teenage misfit. Zack was the ringleader of a gang of bullies. Both knew their places in school, accepting their roles as simple facts.

But one day, an accident changed both their lives, dragging them unwillingly into an adventure that would change them forever. Zack found himself thrown into a world he didn't recognise, in the company of a group of fierce strangers. Legolas was sucked out of Middle-Earth, straight into Evan's home.

Legolas must now find his way in a world he doesn't understand, while Evan's life takes a bizarre twist as he tries to deal with the Elf's presence. Meanwhile, Zack must struggle to earn the trust of the Fellowship, and learn to survive in a hostile world where all the rules are different.

PS, did you get that story I emailed you? It was eons ago and I sort of forgot I had sent it to you and then I realized awhile ago that you'd never responded. So I have no idea if you ever got it or if you were just being pokey with your responses (which is also fine.)

Anyway, you are an amazingly talented writer and I'm so happy I got to beta this for you :]

This is great! You take a few fairly simple scenes and use them to relay vast amounts of complex emotion. The bond between Elladan and Elrohir seems really genuine. My only suggestion is smoothing out some of the dialogue, because it can seem a little awkward at times, but other than that, this story is just beautiful! Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you....English isn\'t my first language, and I\'m still learning when it comes to wwriting dialogues ;)

Summary: Legolas is depressed after the fellowship of the ring and his longing for the sea is getting him down. Can a beautiful she-elf save him from his depression? Or will she cause him even more misery? My first fan fiction, so please read and review. Thank you. CHAPTER 4 IS NOW UP. Don't forget to review then I can make my story better!

Okay after reviews made, and I thank you for it, I have adjusted my story slightly in my style and added slight hunts as to the story further. If you've already read my story these changes do not really require you to re-read, although you may wish to, you will still understand the plot as the outline is the same. Thank you so much.
Please read and review.

Title: Chapter 4: The King's troubles Reviewer: Ophelia Signed
I love the simplicity of this story. The emotions are genuine and you write very descriptively. My one suggestion is that you try reading the dialogue out loud when you're proof-reading, because sometimes it can sound a little awkward. I think a lot of people avoid using contractions when writing elven dialogue (for instance, saying "will not" instead of "won't"), but this tends to make things a little unbelievable. Other than that one suggestion, your story is fantastic and I can't wait to read more!

Author's Response: Thanx for the review. I\'m trying very hard to make the dialogue not seem modern (as in Tolkien\'s style) so I thought saying will not instead of won\'t for example may make it seem a little modern?? I don\'t know if you agree or not? Thanks Alex xxx
