I have one thing to say to you..."Life Is A Highway". Man Rascal Flats is one of my favorite bands! I have a question, is this before or after the War of the Ring? all I want to know. I also have another question, would you like to do a challenge? If not I would understand
Nice job on the story so far, keep up the good work:)
(Dunedain Ranger of the North)
Author's Response: Yay, another Rascal Flatts fan!!!! You'd think that there would be more country fans in Southeastern North Carolina, but they are precious few at my school... I love "Life is a Highway", but my absolute favorite Rascal Flatts song and favorite song ever is "Where You Are". This story takes place after the War of the Ring. Frodo has been to Valinor but decided to return to Middle Earth. For this to make more since, read my first story, "Of Magic and Friendship"- it is the prequel to this story. This story begins exactly a week after that one finishes, so reading it would probably clear up a lot of your questions. I might be interested in doing a challenge, depending on what it is and how much time I have (very busy schedule!). Thanks for your comments and keeping R&Ring! -Traveller
Good! I like it, Kitt. I can't wait to read more! Thanks for doing my challenge!
Oh, hey, I also forgot to mention that I have seen a real live, wild, river otter! No lie! I was boating with my grandparents down a canal in Florida, and an otter jumped and dove back into the water, I wont lie and say it didn't surprise me, I screamed(Kinda wierd for a guy, but, hey, I was freaked out!), it then came back to the surface and swam with its head above the water! I really like it that you decided to use your favorite animal character in this story!
Thanks again for accepting my challenge!
P.S.: if it is easier, call me Dune
Author's Response: : Oh my gosh, Dune! I'm so jealous! All the times I ever went to a zoo, they either had no otters or the otter exhibit was closed. I live by a creek and my brothers were swearing they saw some sort of mammal in it. I was so excited... I went out every day looking for it... if it was an otter, I was just going to die. And then what? I finally caught a glimpse of it: brown, furry, but the tail... was a rat's. It was a water rat. MAJOR disappointment. Where I live all otters are supposedly wiped out since the 1800's. Hmm. Well, thanks so much for reading Ė and coming up with the idea in the first place! : D
Ok, when you said Humorous, I thought a little, but wow! This is alot! Poor Sam, I hope he still comes after Frodo! Nice job and keep up the good work
Author's Response: I do feel sooo guilty about Sam. (Heehee; yes, he may just come after Sam. But thatís supposed to be an unguessable secret). Wow, you still think itís funny? *claps hands* Because I thought I was a little overblown. Iíll keep going to the end. Itís weird (for me), but I actually know how Iím going to end thisÖ so filling in the blanks shouldnít be TOO tough. Thanks again for the idea! : )
Hey, I didn't know it was General Ulysses S Grants birthday! Oh yah, Kitt, when my dad was in the navy he was on a submarine, and-guess what-it was called the USS Grant! talk about coincidence! Keep up the good work on the story!
Author's Response: Awesome! He was on a submarine? My grandpa during WW2 was on the battleship Champaign, which isnít quite as cool a name as USS Grant... I've been inside submarines in museums and in Charleston, SC. Talk about claustrophobic! But those were older types; I guess the more modern subs aren't as crowded as the WW2 ones? -Kitt : )
So that is how you got your nickname! I was wondering about that! nice:)
Author's Response: Tee hee, thanks. I hoped *someone* would wonder why. I know Van (my brother) did. As a response to your author's response to my recent review, I need to do reach for the animal my character is turning into and what scene I want to poof them into. I want to make sure I get everything semi-right. Staying Book-verse is hard. And I know that Max was there all along, Sil just gets to be called Max again. So, YAY. Hey, I saw your Bio picture. Awesome! (I also remember this Fact from reading your bio) Fun Fact: Did you know that the answer ďSaving Private RyanĒ saved me in a Double Jeopardy in a Jeopardy game at school? None of the boys thought I knew the answer. Which, I totally proved them wrong. *Smirks*
Hey, Saving Private Ryan is one of my favorite movies, I just forgot to write it down! Yah that picture is the picture of the Rangers from the computer game Battle For Middle Earth II. It is my favorite computer game. I want to ask, um, what animal are you going to do? I just want to know, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to!
Author's Response: Oh yeah, I remember Battle for Middle-earth II. You just reminded me that I have yet to finish it. I got just past the Defending Dale part. Ugh, that level was hard. Iím not used to playing with Dwarves Ė I only play with Elves when it comes to those types of games. Right, I should play that again. Itís one of my favorites too. HmmÖ getting a bit curious are we? Iíll give you a hint. ThorondorÖ *Grins evilly* Iíll let that pester you.
Oh that sounds like a great idea, and I figured it out(Grins suspiciously) I won't say how I figured it would be an, Hurumeaglemmff!(clears throat) sorry had to cough! My name, Joshua, means God saves and its Elvish translation is, Eruedraith! Man why do elvish names have to be so long! Can't wait to read your story, I hope it is soon!
Namearie(I probably spelled that wrong)
Author's Response: Donít worry, I spell ďNamŠriŽ (Thatís how you spell it)Ē right but say it wrong. I say it like (Na-mar-eh) when itís (Na-mar-ee-eh). Stupid Elvish iís. Always get me. Actually, I pronounce nearly everything in Elvish wrong. Mostly names (so donít ask me to start calling you Eruedraith). Honestly, who pronounces FŽanor wrong? *Shakes head sadly* Thanks, I thought it was a good idea too! *Repress laugh, bites lip, and tries to look serious (unsuccessfully)* Coming down with a bit of a cold, Dune? I hope I didnít give mine to you. Okie, Iíll try to type it out within the week. Iím really gonna try to have it done by next weekend Ė that is if School decides to be nice to me. I doubt it. I donít want to get your hopes up to high, it might ubersuck. But the idea is definitely creative, I can tell you that. I just canít write it out right. I hate that. Oh well. Iíll try my best!
Nah, don't worry, Dune is fine! And hey, I can wait till you post the story so, don't worry if you can't put it up this week. (Smiles) and don't worry, I didn't catch the cold from you, I caught it from Shawn (feels tap on shoulder and turns head) um (swallows) did I say Shawn, I meant to say Alex. (feels someone staring at him and turns head) oh high Alex didn't see you there, um (Turns to face Fei) gotta run, speak with you soon!
Author's Response: Okay, good. I didnít want to keep typing it either. I donít even like typing my own penname! Whenever I say Dune, it reminds me of that MovieÖ and those books I keep forgetting to put upstairs. HmmÖ that reminds me! Thanks, I didnít want to be rude or anything by saying that it might be a wait, I hate letting people down. Or saying No. Or keeping them waitingÖ thatís why I try to review as fast as possible; honestly, I feel terrible if I donít. This is going to be a stretch for me and I honestly donít think it will turn out to gut (hee hee, I love German). Iím really sorry if it doesnít! But, itís the thought that counts, right? (*Turns to Alex and Shawn who are still glaring at Dune* Hey, hey -- no picking on Dune today, thatís my job!)
Yah only she can p-Hey wait a minute!(glares at Fei for a short time)Ha Ha, very funny(laughs for real) Ok, now where were we, oh yes! Yes it is really the thought that counts! I am still looking forward to reading it still!(Turns to Alex and Shawn) sorry guys had to blame some one, right? Ok, well I would like to let you know, Fei, that I have updated my Second Ranger story, I think you will like it!
I salute you, my lady
Author's Response: *Does Elf salute thingy*And I you milord. Ha Ha! I got you! *Innocently glares back* Okay good, I was beginning to worry. I mean, there will we some suspense, a cliffhanger ending, a Vala, and some animal chasings. SoÖ (Turns to Alex, who is holding a mini chalk board in his hand, ďFei: I | Dune: 0Ē is written on it.) Aha! Iím in the lead. But will I be leading for longÖ? Awesome! Iíll read it as soon as I can. *Does Elf salute thingy again* Peace!
Thank you! Thank you! I am glad some one else is finally doing my challenge! I will keep reading this as soon as you write more!
Author's Response: The challenge instantly appealed to me and I think it's very interesting! I will update as soon as I can! Thank you for reviewing - meerkatalex
I am glad you find my challenge to your liking. I decided to do Gimli, because no one ever has Gimli find anyone, only Aragorn, Legolas, Boromir, and Glorfindel. Please read The Wolf's second chapter and see what you think! Thanks again!
P.S.: neat name! one of the character's in my other stories is named Alex as well, please read them and see what you think!
Author's Response: Yeah, I notice that a lot in fics. People write about the Three Hunters, but then they nudge Gimli to one side whilst they describe Aragorn's tracking skills and Legolas's brilliant site and his handsomeness, and then Gimli seems to be left out. That kinds of dissapoints me. Anyway, I'm glad you reviewed again, and I will look at the second chapter - I like the name Alex too. My pen-name gives that away. :-) Thanks again for reviewing! - meerkatalex
Whoowee! Now that is what I am talking about! A ring-tailed Lemur, very nice, Meerkat very nice!! Now can he talk, because I want to know is if that is why same ran away? Good job, just one suggestion, some people like me like to read longer chapters so, just thought I would let you know that. Keep up the good work! I will be waiting for more!
Author's Response: Heehee. I can imagine you reading the story and then saying that! lol! Alex will not be able to talk at the moment; he thinks to himself, but Sam was so surprised at seeing such an animal; that's why he ran away! I know about the shortness of chapters, thank you for pointing it out! I will try to update when I can, but if the chapters are longer then they'll take longer to write! However I will try and add chapters when I can, and make them longer! Thank you for your suggestion, for reading, and for reviewing! :-) meerkatalex
Fluffy! Hahahahahahahaha! His new name is Fluffy.
Hagard: Who told you about fluffy?
Hermiony: That thing has a name?
You get the point! Going good, so keep it up. Oh and by the way, I updated the Minotaur.
Author's Response: I am now rolling around laughing like a lunatic. *Phew, calming down*. Thanks for the review, and I'll look at the story in a bit! - meerkatalex
Whoo-doggy! Now this is sounding like a good story! I thank you for doing my challenge! This is very interesting! I have also did my own Challenge, the story is called The Wolf, if you want to read it! keep up the good work on this story!
Ok, one question! Where is she? Lothlorien? I have atip for you, if you are going to mention a door closing, you might want to mention first that she is inside a room! (laughs) I was a little confused by this chapter! Its good that you are starting out with short chapters but some long ones would be nice! Not to long, just a little longer. Oh and one more question, is this Gandalf the Grey or White? Keep up the good work and thanks again for working on my challenge!
PS: Nice choice of dog, a husky looks almost like a wolf!
Good chapter, short but good! So, question, is he Gandalf the Grey or Gandalf the White? All I want to know! Oh, and thanks again for doing my challenge!
Ok, well, I guess the second chapter answered my question, about him being Gandalf the White! so I take it he is going to Fangorn to meet the Fellowship? I wonder what they will think of Ashanti?
P.S: Ashanti is a really beautiful name, how did you come up with it? Hope you update soon, can't wait to read next chapter!
Did Shadowfax just-that was a joke! He made a joke, hahahahahaha! Liked this chapter please continue!
Good start to a great tale! Wainrider? a suspicious name, is he good or evil? no one knows! (Laughs) I like your style! You've got me hooked! I wonder what the star on his hand means, hmm...!
PS: How is your other story coming along?
Author's Response: Other story meaning my animal transformation story? Yes, it's going fine. I may post a new chapter tonight, depends if I get round to it. The star on his hand will not be discussed until an inquisitive Pippin gets even more inquisitive than normal! :-) Glad you like it, keep tuned! meerkatalex
