Summary:

A ring can represent practically anything. Undying love, a silent promise, real friendship, commitment, but also nobility, worship or faith. There are rings that symbolize dependence, enslavement, eternity, and apparently there is one that stands for all that’s evil in this world. But let’s not forget a ring is nothing more than a piece of metal that fits nicely around a finger. It doesn’t even have to be pretty.

So don’t ask me why I ended up risking my life, going on this quest to destroy one. I mean, you can’t really blame me for getting caught up in things I don’t even believe in, right?

Be warned: this is a tenth walker fic and English is my second language. It’s possible you’ll hate this story, but don’t forget you’re not legally obliged to do so. And seriously, I really like readers and absolutely love reviewers.

I've been reading the version you posted on faerie and I must admit I am pleasantly surprised! I don't normally read 10th Walker fics but I actually really, reallly enjoyed yours!
Iris is a very believable character and the other members of the Fellowship are all also very accurately portrayed too. It's great how you've written it so that Iris fits the story (in a very believable way) but doesn't cause events to change etc. And you give a new perspective which keeps the story interesting even though technically we all know what is going to happen.
So overall an extremely good read; well done and please continue! :)

Author's Response: Thanks for your review Taurauthiel! Reviews keep me motivatd, so more is coming!

Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Reviewer: Taurauthiel Eruwaedhiel Signed
Hey this is actually really good! I like the way their relationship is kind of playing out subtly and its not just too in-your-face. I am enjoying this very much, and I'm very interested to see where this goes! :D

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I was worried it would seem like too much was happening at once but clearly it's okay. Chapter 11 coming soon!

Oh really beautiful Well done you! A lovely look at how Gimli came to sail away with Legolas. Ah really really lovely! :') Mae Carnen! :D

Author's Response: Thank you very much for your kind words with regards to all of the chapters, Taurauthiel! I think that all of the chapters are now in place, but I will have to revisit Tirion upon Tuna at some point, once I have absorbed the impact of Akallabeth on what I have written.

Title: Chapter 4: Of Gimli and his coming to Valmar Reviewer: Taurauthiel Eruwaedhiel Signed
This was wonderful too! Meeting his maker, that must have been wonderful. You write so well! :)

Author's Response: I wrote this more for Aule than Gimli. Because Illuvatar removed the dwarves to Middle Earth, Aule never got to know any of his creations. He gave them their shape, he gave them their language, but never had the opportunity to teach them directly or see the works of their hands. The only time that he knew them as free-thinking individuals, they recoiled from him in fear (he was going to destroy them with his hammer, so fair enough!).
