I dwell in Scotland, a truly fabulous and beautiful country, when you finally get past the concreted-over parts.
I am, of course, a Tolkienite, Ringer, LOTRer, Ringnut, wielder of the LOTR obsession, and so on and so forth. I also have a great fondness for the Discworld and its inhabitants, not to mention the Great A’Tuin and associated pachyderms. (And does anyone know where I can get a homicidal many-legged travelling trunk?) Also, I reckon that The Big Bang Theory
is the best sitcom on the face of the Earth, as evidenced by the quotes at the bottom of this bio.
Within Middle-earth canon, I have a particular fondness for First Age mythology, and in fanfiction… well, I’ll read anything that I like the look of, but I love stories that deal with stuff Tolkien didn’t write very much about, like the lands in the east of Middle-earth and/or their peoples, the Second Age, etcetera.
My joint #1 pet hates are patronization and poor spelling. Either one of these will cause me to give myself brain damage by banging my head repeatedly off of the nearest convenient surface.
As for musical tastes, I generally go in for rock or country-and-western. I make little music videos in my head as I’m listening to a song. *chuckle*
I am addicted to The Sims, too, which accounts for a low productivity level on stories. Beware, computer games dull your wits. But they are so cool.
I’m a huge hypochondriac – I get a headache and I’m scared I’ve got a serious brain condition. I also fear the dark (one too many ghost stories) and needles (I can never remember the official name for a fear of needles).
And now I think that’s more than enough about me, possibly straying into TMI territory, so farewell.
I am on www.councilofelrond.com as LOTR_obsessed_loony, but rarely visit there.
